- Out-of-gauge and heavy cargo : Flat Rack, Open Top, RoRo (vehicles, machinery) and breakbulk for machines, industrial equipment and oversized parts.
Ports of loading and discharge
| China (loading) | Morocco (discharge) |
|---|---|
| Shanghai, Ningbo | Casablanca |
| Shenzhen (Yantian, Shekou), Guangzhou (Nansha) | Tanger Med |
| Qingdao, Tianjin (Xingang), Xiamen | Agadir (depending on service) |
Are your suppliers located inland? We also arrange pick-up at the factory and transport to the port of loading (EXW Incoterm).
Indicative transit times
Since the start of the Middle East crisis, shipping lines have been avoiding the Suez Canal: vessels from Asia sail around Africa via the Cape of Good Hope, with transhipment in Tanger Med or Algeciras. Transit times have therefore increased significantly.
| Route | Indicative port-to-port transit time |
|---|---|
| Shanghai / Ningbo → Casablanca | 46 to 55 days |
| Shenzhen → Casablanca | 50 to 55 days |
| Tianjin → Casablanca | 50 to 55 days |
| Xiamen → Casablanca | up to 65–70 days |
| Ningbo → Tanger Med (direct service) | about 40 days |
Transit times observed in 2026 in our partners' offers in China, excluding customs clearance. They vary by shipping line, port calls and transhipments: we give you a precise transit time with every quote.

Customs clearance in Casablanca and Tanger Med
Customs clearance is often the step where the most time is lost. LY2N prepares your file in advance, even before the vessel arrives, to limit port dwell time and storage costs. Duties and taxes (import duty, VAT) are calculated on the CIF value of the goods; we give you an estimate before shipment.
Which Incoterm should you agree with your Chinese supplier?
- FOB (the most common): your supplier delivers the goods on board at the Chinese port; LY2N handles the sea freight, insurance and arrival in Morocco. You keep control of the transport and its cost.
- EXW : you take over the goods directly at the factory. We handle pick-up, export and transport.
- CFR / CIF : the supplier arranges the sea freight. Watch out for charges billed on arrival, often higher than expected: ask us for advice before confirming your order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a container take from China to Morocco?
Currently allow 50 to 55 days port to port between China and Casablanca, as vessels sail around Africa instead of using the Suez Canal. Add a few days for customs clearance and final delivery.
Is a full container or groupage better?
Groupage (LCL) is worthwhile for small volumes, as you only pay for the space used. Above about 15 cubic metres, a full container (FCL) is generally cheaper and faster.
How much does sea freight from China to Morocco cost?
The price depends on the port of loading, the container type, the season and the shipping lines' surcharges, which change every month. Request a quote: you receive a detailed price within one business day.
Can you collect the goods directly from my supplier?
Yes. We arrange factory pick-up, export formalities in China and transport to the port of loading.
Do you handle customs clearance in Morocco?
Yes. LY2N handles customs formalities in Casablanca and Tanger Med, as well as delivery to your premises.
Do you ship out-of-gauge cargo?
