How the price is calculated: chargeable weight

In air freight, you pay for the higher of the actual weight and the volumetric weight of your shipment. Volumetric weight is calculated by dividing the volume in cubic centimetres by 6,000 (i.e. 167 kg per cubic metre).

Example: an 80 × 50 × 35 cm carton weighing 21.5 kg has a volumetric weight of 23.3 kg. That is the weight that will be charged. Well-sized packaging can therefore noticeably reduce the cost of your shipment.
